Pre Shave/Matting Fee

Sometimes your dog needs some extra care to get the care they deserve.

The Pre Shave or Matting Fee applies when a dog’s coat requires extra time and care due to tangles or matting. Safely removing mats often involves detailed work or shaving to ensure your pet’s comfort and prevent skin irritation. This service reflects the additional attention needed to restore your dog’s coat to a healthy, manageable state.

Here at From Shaggy to Chic, we also believe in fostering open communication with pet owners, ensuring you are informed and confident in the grooming process.

Our dedicated team is always available to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have, making the experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible. We understand that your pet is a cherished member of your family, and we strive to treat them as such.

We pride ourselves on building lasting relationships with both pets and their owners, creating a welcoming environment that fosters trust and satisfaction. With a commitment to excellence in every service we provide, we ensure that every pet leaves our salon not only looking fabulous but also feeling loved and cared for. Your pet deserves the best, and that’s exactly what we aim to deliver with every grooming session.

OF OUR DOG

faq

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers

We love our pets, and want to show that same level of care to yours. If you have any questions that we don't answer here - feel free to reach out directly!
What vaccinations are required for boarding or grooming?

We require all dogs to be up-to-date on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo (DHLPP), and Bordetella. Proof of vaccination is needed before your pet can be groomed or boarded to ensure the safety and health of all animals in our care.

Do you offer tours of your boarding facility?

Yes! We encourage all pet parents to tour our facility. Tours can be scheduled during business hours so you can see where your dog will play, sleep, and relax.

How often will my dog go outside or get exercise during boarding?

Dogs are let out regularly throughout the day for bathroom breaks and playtime. We offer structured activities, including walks, group play (for social dogs), or one-on-one enrichment based on your dog’s needs.

Can I bring my dog’s food, toys, or bedding from home?

Absolutely. We recommend bringing your dog’s own food to avoid stomach upset. You’re also welcome to bring familiar bedding or toys—just label them clearly with your dog’s name.

What grooming services do you offer?

We provide full-service grooming including baths, haircuts, de-shedding, nail trimming/grinding, ear cleaning, anal gland expression (upon request), and breed-specific styling. Spa add-ons like teeth brushing and specialty shampoos are also available.

How long does the grooming process take?

Most grooming appointments take 2–4 hours depending on the dog’s breed, coat condition, and service level. We’ll call or text as soon as your dog is ready for pickup.

Do you groom dogs with special needs, elderly dogs, or anxious dogs?

Yes. Our groomers are trained to work with dogs of all temperaments and health needs. We take extra time and care to keep nervous or senior pups comfortable and will adjust the groom as needed for safety.

What happens if my dog becomes stressed or aggressive during grooming?

Safety is our top priority. If your dog becomes overly anxious or stressed, we may slow down, take breaks, or modify the service. In rare cases, we may stop the grooming session and discuss options with you.

Do you offer updates or photos while my dog is boarding?

Yes! We’re happy to send photo or video updates so you can see how your dog is doing. Just let us know your preferred method of communication.
